Owen is quite a chicken guy, the chickens were out in the garden on Sunday. We went and herded them back in the coop. Owen put his finger in the cage and one of the hens was pecking it, he thought it was hilarious. Then he put his dad’s finger in the cage to get pecked and that was even funnier.

This is late, I played too much golf this week. Twice Monday 6 in the morning with Ken before the rain and 9 at night with Nichole. Played OK both times but played much better today at Ried, 6 over par on 9 holes.

Kenzie and Carter have been reading me “bedtime stories” for the last 2 weeks getting ready to go back to school. Carter has a series that lets you pick the story line as you read. Last night was tough. World War 2 story where I died twice. The Civil War story the night before I did better on.

Hot, no wind, but good day for golf today. Shot 45, 3 pars with Owen and Kenzie. Kenzie drove the cart, Owen gets out at the greens. He was running circles around me while I was trying to chip on. Finally he put his head between my knees from the back and I clamped down on him and hit the ball. Would have been even a better story if it went in.

Carter and his dad are out in Washington State bear hunting. Carter drew a youth tag. His mom should have taken him, he would probably have had a better chance. Took his dad 8 or so years to get his elk, mom got hers first year. Didn’t hear from them last night, don’t know if Carter won or the bear won. Let you know next week of any success.

Carter hit a great drive off number 9 about 100 yards. Kenzie made a nice putt on one and Owen lost his shorts in the club house. They were to big for him and his diaper so he played in his diaper today. There were two others dads out playing with their kids today also. I shot 49 again.

Owen didn’t come to the lake swimming on Sunday, he was chasing chickens again. Monday night I got a call about a fat lip but it Didn’t happen on my watch. Apparently Owen was running and took a digger into a toy dump truck. Then Got another knee scrape when his dad got him home. He survived the day perfectly with Papa. No golf balls to the noggin or nothing.

Amish Turkeys are ordered for Thanksgiving. We will put the order sheet up in October.

Carter and Kenzie were up north for Hockey camp. Owen has found a love of chasing chickens. When we got to his house yesterday the chickens were out in the driveway picking bugs and green beans. Owen made several valiant attempts to catch one. Kind of like a scene from Rocky. No golf today, raining. Road reconstruction on Highway 22 so lots of dump trucks for Owen to watch.

Good day golfing today, Carter and Kenzie hit the ball well. Owen was all over the greens following me around. Started good, birdie, Par but went down hill from there.

Owen’s baby chickens are getting bigger. Feathers and colors are coming in. They figure 4 roosters for the frying pan. He doesn’t seem to be very interested in them, he was more excited about the hummingbird on the feeder.

Carter has hockey camp in Duluth next week. His mom is worried about safety.
