Sorry for the delay last week, kinda pre occupied with family stuff. Kenzie’s birthday and Mine and Nana’s 40th wedding anniversary.

Kenzie got a riding lesson for her birthday. Bonnie was an Amish driving horse who is retired and giving riding lessons to kids. Kenzie handled her very well.

Carter had a 3 on 3 hockey tournament over the weekend. Played well most of the time but lost all the matches. Also had a football scrimmage Saturday.

Owen did very well at Simpson’s for dinner on Saturday night. His other grandpa was there also. He was the perfect little flirt until he got in the car. He screamed all the way home but went right to sleep when he got there.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 21st

Owen was all about sand traps today. He has figured out what the rakes are for. Today he left the rake in the middle of the trap after walking across one shoe on and one shoe off. His mom guessed that he tried to drive the cart in the pond but that one is still to come, probably next year.

Kenzie and Bella made some really yummy chocolate chip cookie brownies that she wouldn’t share with me. Becki said that was good because they are really good and for us.

Look for gloves to begin to disappear from use on raw meats and fish. Cost on gloves has gone from 5 cents each to 25 cents each and you can’t get them. Please check with your health department if you wish. The rule always has been a glove or handle is only required if the product will go directly from my hand to your mouth without cooking. Think potato salad (handle) sliced sandwich meat or cheese (glove) Raw product that will be cooked between my touching and your consuming never required a glove, only hand washing. You will see much more hand washing till the glove production issues get better.

Owen and I golfed today and he is becoming a little too independent. He sat up on the seat or my lap while riding and pushed the gas peddle when I was hitting the ball. He can’t get the key back in correctly yet so I can still slow him down a little. Only played 6 holes 2 par and 4 double bogie. We both needed a nap.

No bear opening weekend in Hayward but we did manage to run over a deer with the car. I always tell people its better to take a deer with a gun or bow, not a Ford or Chevy or in this case a Volkswagen. Be careful driving, deer are everywhere.

Golfing with Owen, AJ and Jimmy on Monday. Shot 49. They still won’t let me play from the red or gold tees, tell me I am not old enough yet. Didn’t order a hot dog from the 5th tee, Owen is not old enough yet for that.

Owen is quite a chicken guy, the chickens were out in the garden on Sunday. We went and herded them back in the coop. Owen put his finger in the cage and one of the hens was pecking it, he thought it was hilarious. Then he put his dad’s finger in the cage to get pecked and that was even funnier.

This is late, I played too much golf this week. Twice Monday 6 in the morning with Ken before the rain and 9 at night with Nichole. Played OK both times but played much better today at Ried, 6 over par on 9 holes.

Kenzie and Carter have been reading me “bedtime stories” for the last 2 weeks getting ready to go back to school. Carter has a series that lets you pick the story line as you read. Last night was tough. World War 2 story where I died twice. The Civil War story the night before I did better on.

Hot, no wind, but good day for golf today. Shot 45, 3 pars with Owen and Kenzie. Kenzie drove the cart, Owen gets out at the greens. He was running circles around me while I was trying to chip on. Finally he put his head between my knees from the back and I clamped down on him and hit the ball. Would have been even a better story if it went in.

Carter and his dad are out in Washington State bear hunting. Carter drew a youth tag. His mom should have taken him, he would probably have had a better chance. Took his dad 8 or so years to get his elk, mom got hers first year. Didn’t hear from them last night, don’t know if Carter won or the bear won. Let you know next week of any success.
