Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 22nd

Saturday will be my 34th wedding anniversary.  Louise is a saint to put up with me for so long.

Kenzie tried on the bear costume for Halloween.  When she saw herself in the mirror she put both arms up and went “ROARRR”  Her dad Aaron coaches football at Appleton East and Becki and the kids go to watch dad coach.  Last Friday Louise had Kenzie in the van with her and when she turned to go to the house Kenzie threw a fit and kicked the seat and said no NaNa house, East Football.  One of the football parents was in tonight and said that Kenzie was so cute at the football games and talks just like me.  I told her that might become a problem for her down the road.

Kenzie and I also got our round of golf in this morning and I remembered my clubs this time.  I’m pretty rusty, lots of 6s and 8s and even a 12.  When the nurse asks about any unusual bruising I will have to tell her about the golf ball size bruise on my left thigh from the ball bouncing off the tree and hitting me.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 15th

Had a nice vacation last week.  Louise complains that it was spent in grocery stores and brewerys.  Just because the first stop was at 3 Floyds and the second at a grocery store auction it was almost 2 more days before we stopped at another brewery, Devel’s Backbone.  We did visit some historical places and dip our toes in the ocean before hitting 2 more brewerys, Dogfish Head and 3 Floyds on the way home again.  I don’t know, I had a good time.

Carter is in 4 year old pre school every morning so Kenzie and I went to the golf coarse this morning.  Just a light drizzle that pretty much stopped by the time we got there.  Went in and got a cart key and as I was driving to the truck I realized that I had left my golf clubs at home.  So it was just a quick tour of the parking lot.  The rain started to pick up by then anyway.  Maybe next week.

Live Lobster weekend is this weekend.  Small ones (1 1/4 and 1 1/2 pounders)  are $11.99 lb and the big ones (2 and 3 pounders)  are 15.49 lb.  I need your orders by 4 pm Wednesday for Friday delivery.  I will have 6 extras ordered again this year but don’t count on getting them on Friday, they usually sell out fast.

Grandma Niemuth had a hard weekend with my grandchildren.  First Carter went running into the kitchen asking his mom for help hooking the combine up to his toy tractor.  Becki said ‘Buddy, can it wait while I finish washing these last two plates?”  He said, “No, mom, it can’t wait, this corn is getting as old as Grandma!”  (that’s my mother, not my wife).   Then Grandma watched as almost 2 yr old Kenzie was being her 2 y.o. little self and says to Becki “I almost wish I was going to be around to see what it’ll be like when she turns 16”.   Then Scotty pipes in with “but Grandma thats only 14 years from now, you’ll only be 100 then.”  Love you, Grandma!

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 1st`

Yes September, where did the summer go?  Tuesday September 2nd is the happiest day of the year, especially if you have kids going back to school.  Carter starts 4 year old Kindergarten tomorrow.

I asked around the dinner table tonight if anyone did anything cute this week that I could put in this e-mail.  Carter and Kenzie both said no but I suspect they were telling a fib.  Grandma said no, she is more boring the older she gets.  Then I offered to let her pick up sweet corn and tomatoes on Thursday but she is playing bridge with the other boring old ladies, Her Words.  My nephew John did get his 4 wheeler stuck in a mud hole but that is pretty much standard for him.

We did get out to the golf coarse this morning, 5 of us plus Kenzie and Carter.  The clear patch on radar that was there when we teed off turned to rain.  We went down and picked up our tee shots and went home.  I did get a nice bike ride in after lunch when the sun came out.

We had a customer come in last week who ordered 200 clams.  I said Friday they said no Saturday, we are dropping our kid off at college on Friday and the empty nest party is Saturday.  Morel of the story is order your live lobster, clams and oysters by 4 pm Tuesday for Wednesday and 4 pm Thursday for Friday or Saturday delivery.  734 4905 or stop in.

There was a big shiney 8 lug hub cap probably off a big shiney truck in the parking lot when I got back tonight.  Louise will review the film to see if we can tell who it belongs to.  If you lost it I brought it in the store.  Pick it up when you have time.

Waupaca Sweet Corn and Tomatoes will continue to be available until first frost.  Lets hope that is November.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 25th

Labor Day weekend, end of summer, beginning of football season, Next week Tuesday is the happiest day of the year, first day of school.

This morning for breakfast I told Kenzie to watch Aunt AJ and make sure she didn’t take a bite out of my toast.  I took my juice to the table and when I came back Kenzie was pointing at AJ and AJ was pointing at Kenzie because there was a bite in my toast.  It was kind of cute the look on Kenzie’s face. AJ and I have been doing this for over 25 years.

We walked this morning instead of playing golf.  The golf coarse was to wet for carts and I didn’t think to take Kenzie’s stroller.  The 2 subdivision loops that we walk are about 4 1/2 miles.  Carter walked it this morning instead of riding his bike.  He brought home some sticks for NaNa to use for kindling in the fireplace this winter.  We also found 2 wooly bear caterpillars, I thought it was a little early tor them.  Hope that doesn’t mean an early winter.
