Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 30th

Last week of Waupaca Aspargus, 15 pounds today and hopefully 25 on Thursday.

Had a customer in the store the other day telling me how much he enjoyed hearing me on the radio, WHBY.  He liked my fish jokes so much he shared them with his friends in Colorado.  I think I am going viral!  Louise doesn’t think you should encourage me so much.

Kenzie was the little turd on the golf coarse this morning.  She would get out of the cart and say bye bye and expect me to drive off without her.  When I got out to get her she would plop down on the grass like I couldn’t pick her up.  We did leave her by the 3rd green.  It was about 20 yards to the 4th tee.  She ran over to us as I hit my tee shot.  We put her in her car seat after the 6th hole for the rest of the round.

Carter was hitting the ball about 20 yards on a good shot.  Most of the time I have to remind him to put his left hand on top and not to chop at the ball like he is swinging an ax.

We had a deer, spotted fawn, cross the fairway in front of us on number 4.  Didn’t see the mom or twin.  Don’t know spooked it.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 23rd

Holiday hours:  We will be open Friday July 4th 9 – 9.  All other days regular hours:  9 – 9 and 10 – 6 on Sunday.

Happy Birthday to Aaron, 31 on the 24th.  Boy I am getting  old.

So Scott my youngest calls his mom last week.  Mom, What’s up?  Scott, Oh, just sitting here at the emergency room, waiting for my sister, again.  Seems AJ nicked her finger while cleaning the slicer to the tune of 5 stiches.  Nurse came in, Oh, you guys again.  Weren’t you just her 6 months ago?  Yes, when AJ popped her shoulder downhill sking.  AJ is a nursing student and wanted to numb it herself for practice but the doctor wouldn’t let her.  Lots of liability I guess.

Carter has become famous.  He was only in the store for about 15 minutes today and 3 people talked to him and told him that they have heard him on the radio.  Most people look at Kenzie and ask her when she will be on the radio too.  She’ll be 2 in September.

Hired 3 new people in the last 2 weeks.  Most notable is Chef George.  Not to put any pressure on him his first week but stop in and see what he creates or make your suggestions for what you want.  Phil and Sarah are also on board for the rest of the summer.  Both will be returning to school in the fall.  Phil spent a summer in Bar Harbor Maine on a research project.  He knows most of the Lobsters by name.

I should have fresh Waupaca Aspargus on Thursday.  Next week will be the last week for Waupaca Aspargus.

Fresh seafood for Tuesday will be Skate Cheeks and Mahi Mahi.  Skate cheeks are confirmed and are supposed to be better than Halibut cheeks and less expensive.  Several orders on the board already.  Call 734 4905 to reserve.

Fresh seafood for Wednesday will be Ora King Salmon, Green Bay Perch and Whitefish and day boat scallops.

Fresh seafood for Thursday will be Chilean Sea Bass and Atlantic Haddock.

Fresh Seafood for Friday will be Pacific Grouper, Scottish Salmon, Red Snapper, Wild Gulf Shrimp, Atlantic Cod, Tuna, Copper River Sockeye (probably last week) PEI Mussels and maybe Soft Shell Crabs.

Order Live Lobster, Clams and Oysters by calling 734 4905.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 16th

Hope everyone had a great Father’s day weekend.

Back from Canadian fishing trip.  No, we don’t fly in, we drive to a resort that my brother has been going to for over 25 years.  We ruff it too, the cabin has hot and cold water with a shower,  electric heat and satilite TV, but only 200 Canadian channels.  Fishing was better than last year.  Caught a bunch of walleye between 20 and 26 inches.  Didn’t get the “30” incher in the boat that my 10 year old nephew Cameron hooked.  We did see it and it was a nice one.  Brought home the limit of 16 walleye and almost limit 14 northern.   Ate fish every day.  Going back next year.

Carter went golfing with me for the first time this year on Monday.  He is starting to hit the ball pretty good.  I got him a bucket of foam practice balls that we will start to hit around the yard and probably out into the lake.  Then he can swim out and get them.  Did the radio commercials with him before I left for Canada.  Haven’t heard any feedback yet but I also haven’t been in town.

Niemuth’s Specials for the week of June 9, 2014

Well, I’m back from my little jaunt to Washington Island.  It was picture perfect weather there with the exception of after 7:00 p.m on Friday night.  Richard and the boys are in Canada.  Cameron, his nephew had a whopper of a walleye up next to the boat,  close enough this his dad and Uncle Richard could see that it was a big one.  But, alas, it didn’t make it into the boat and of course there is no photographic evidence.  Our oldest, Aaron is complaining that he’s catching too big of fish (but too small to keep) but again, no photographic evidence!

Carter did a couple of radio commercials with Papa while his sister stood at the window to the studio making faces and licking the window.  Papa was oblivious to it all.  I also had to take Carter to soccer practice last week where his dad was going to pick him up.  I asked him is his dad was briging the Honda or the blue truck.  He says, “If you see the big blue truck, then he brought the blue truck, if you see the Honda, then he brought the Honda”.  I’m surprised he didn’t say… ‘duh, Nana!’  Makes me laugh!

OK on to the FRESH FISH for  this week

Tuesday:  he didn’t order anything (or he forgot and just isn’t tellling me)

Wednesday will be Ora King Salmon, Bay Perch and Door County Whitefish

Thursday I will  have to check with the supplier.  Richard was driving and can’t remember what it was.  I will put it out on our Facebook page and send another note.

Friday Pacific Grouper, Scottish Salmon, Copper River Sockeye Salmon, Fresh Calamari, 2 doz Prime Soft Shell Crabs, Ahi Tuna, Wild Gulf Shrimp 5 lbs of Rainbow Trout and possibly Scallops

It’s Graduation Party time.  Stop in for all you party needs, hamburgers, brats, potato salad, pasta salads, root beer and anything else that will make your celebration a success.  Oh, and don’t forget Father’s Day.  We have a large variety of craft brews that could make any Dad happy on his day!

Prices on ground beef are moving in the right direction.  This week ground chuck will be $3.99 per lb and $3.39 for 5 lbs or more.

Stop in and see us.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 2nd

Yes June, just keeps on going on.

Need dinner plans for Wednesday?  Check out the Southern Tier Tap take over at Milwaukee Burger Co in the old Buffalo Wild Wings Building on Casaloma on the west side of the mall.  They are pairing 3 sliders and desert with 4 Southern Tier Beers.  One of the beers will only be available on draft at this event.  Desert is a fried cookie with Creame Brulee.

Forgot to mention that Dave took a Smoked Turkey order for Thanksgiving a couple weeks ago.  Dave told him he was our first Thanksgiving order but I actually took a Fresh Turkey order about a month before.  My free range organic turkey order will be due in mid September, will order more than last year.

Carter will be appearing in several new radio commercials with me.  Time to freshen up my Fresh Fish commercial.  Rained most of the morning in Waupaca today so we didn’t get out golfing.  Carter also ratted me out for teaching Kenzie to poke him in the nose.  Apparently she got him a couple times over the weekend when he got in her face too much.

AJ painted Kenzie’s toes last night.  She would walk around and stick her foot out to show everyone.
