Memorial week specials @ Niemuth’s

Sorry for the lack of e-mails, apparently tech people don’t think its a good idea to answer the phone, not high tech enough.

We were having dinner at AJ and Jimmy’s house on Sunday. Kenzie got the box of tape out and I put a strip on her forehead and was writing her name on it with permanent marker when her mom spotted me doing it. “Your not writing on my little girl are you?” It was kind of funny.

Road Construction update: Traffic has been moved to our side of Oneida Street two weeks ahead of what I was told so hopefully they are ahead of schedule. Traffic seems to back up at the light at Calumet between 3 and 6 pm. Shop earlier or later if possible. Right turns out of our driveway will be best at these times also. Roeland side is blocked south of us, East Calumet will be soon. When Calumet is blocked drop down to Murray. Murray comes straight into our lot from the East. We are on New Concrete south of us by the Mobil Station. Thank you for making the extra effort to get to us and all the businesses on South Oneida Street, We really appreciate it, Richard.

Store Hours Monday – Saturday 9-9, Sunday 10-6. We are OPEN Memorial Day Monday 10-6. Have a save Holiday.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of May 7th

Happy Mother’s day to all the Moms. Just got back from a weekend in Columbus at my Sister’s. Round of Golf, Ballet, weaseled my way out of the quilt show. Nice weather, only a few rain drops that didn’t bother us. Nice run through Indiana also. Beer guys know what that means. My niece is home from her first year of Architect school but didn’t plan early enough for a summer internship. She has her old restaurant opportunity but if you know of any Architecture internships let me know.

Have located my passport for our Canada Fishing trip in June. Some snickers about me sneaking across the border if I didn’t find it. Carter and one of his Hockey friends and his dad will be going with us this year. The Dad is really excited about it.

Aaron and Becki were going across W on the way to Hayward. Aaron woke Becki up to tell her there were elk tracks on the side of the road. Becki looked and said probably from the elk standing in the ditch. They turned around and took pictures. Probably could have fed it carrots out the window too. We all had a good laugh at Aaron’s expense when Becki was telling the story and said “no wonder he can’t shoot an elk in Washington, he can see the tracks but not the body.” Aaron will be making his 5th maybe 6th trip to Washington elk hunting this fall. Most bets are on him not shooting one again.

Lots of concrete poured down by Valley road. Should be switching over next week to the Roeland side. East Calumet after that. Our side will be open until August 1st then hindered access for a month. Coming from the East drop down to Murray, it comes straight in to our lot. Coming in from the west, come down Calumet, easy right turn and a short bumpy ride to the store. I know how easy it would be for you to go elsewhere, I really appreciate your efforts to get to us.

Store hours are 9-9 Monday – Saturday and 10-6 Sunday

Fresh seafood for Wednesday will be Ora King Salmon, Canadian Perch, Great Lakes Smelt and Halibut Cheeks.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 30th

Happy Cinco di Mayo and Kentucky Derby this Saturday.

Grandma and Grandpa Niemuth are smiling in Heaven. Aaron and Becki were in the kitchen making dinner. Carter was practicing his puck handling skills in the living room when there was a big crash. Becki said to Aaron sounds like a window. Carter put the practice ball through the window, he was pretty scared. I grew up in that house and never broke a window. Takes after his dad, Aaron put a hole in the bathroom door when he was a kid.

Nana and Kenzie were at Aunt Marie’s in Iron Mountain over the weekend. Kenzie was playing school teacher all weekend which Nana and Marie got tired of. Must be a growth spurt coming, Nana said she couldn’t keep her fed all weekend.

Road Construction update: If you want to get to us with the least amount of construction barrels try picking up Murray street from the East we are straight across Oneida from Murray. Several cross streets will get you to Murray starting at Madison Middle School (Carpenter). From the West Wilson street is just 2 blocks down and Calumet is 2 blocks up. A Right turn off Calumet might be easier most times of day than a Left from Wilson. Come after 6 PM also, much less traffic then. We appreciate your dedication getting to us, Thank you.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 23rd

Kenzie got all wet today splashing in the puddle behind the store. It wasn’t me that let her do it, it was Nana and her mom who took a video for evidence that it wasn’t me. I was at the post office when this happened.

We had My birthday dinner at AJ and Jim’s new house Sunday. Carter had a little trouble with his aunts and uncle and snow balls. He ended up making a couple snow angels, face down so we could recognize him. Didn’t make it in time for the walking loop, 3 miles maybe next time. Took the back roads home, looks like about a 15 mile bike ride one way. And lots and lots of deer on the way… we’re talking 50 or so…

Road Construction update: Looks like Seymour street at Oneida is closed as well as Old Oneida Street. Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 16th

Happy Spring snow storm. Robins are still here. Called the boys yesterday to see if they wanted to go fishing. Aaron was plowing snow and Scotty was happy I gave him my old snowblower. Becki posted a nice picture of Carter sledding outside the house. That’s 60 years of Niemuth Kids sledding down that hill. AJ and Jimmy moved into their new house last weekend, First snowstorm stories already.

The street project suffered a little setback with the snow. The electric boys were digging the barrels out of the snow this morning. Apparently the city wanted the snow moved off the street. I asked them if they planned on leaving the snow in my drive way, they said no. It will be a miracle if concrete is poured this week. Be Careful out there.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 9th

Yes spring will get here someday. I can tell by the amount of concrete removed from Oneida street so far. Valley road intersection is all dug up, hopefully new concrete next week. We will have good access to our store until August 1st, then it will become hindered access for a month or so. Thank you so much for your continued support, we appreciate it.

Another sign of spring, the ice is out on Stratton lake and the mergansers were diving for fish this morning. I figured 10 or 12, couldn’t really tell for sure, only 5 on top of the water at a time, the rest under water.

Carter starts baseball this week, try outs are Thursday. We already know he made the team because his mother is coaching. Kenzie has her pink tee ball gear ready to go also. They both got new baseball bags for Easter.

Congratulations to my brother Roger for 4th place Braunschwieger at the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors annual competition last weekend.
