Big skating weekend. Kenzie won 2 games in Wausau and scored a goal. Went to open skate Sunday night with Owen and Sylvi and Carter and Kenzie. Owen was amazing skating around the rink with the chair. Carter would push him on the chair then Owen had to skate around one time to get another ride. Sylvi was even on skates a few minutes. She pushed the chair about 30 feet and smiled every time she fell down.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Louise had surgery on a broken wrist after a slip on the ice, so we didn’t see the kids over the weekend. My sister sent a picture of her koi for Owen and Sylvi to see. It was colder 2 weeks ago when we were down there with them, and the fish hid on the bottom of the pond. It was 65 degrees last week and the fish were out.

Sorry about last week. AJ and Jim went on their honeymoon, so we took the kids to Ohio to my sister’s. Stayed in a motel. Sylvi didn’t like the elevator, so we had to do the stairs a couple days till she warmed up to it. Went to the zoo and the park with the hollow tree for a traditional kids picture. Had breakfast with the Harlem Globetrotters and Washington Generals on Wednesday morning at the motel. Nice trip, the kids did well for a 10 hour drive.

Kenzie fell one game short of going to state for hockey. They lost 7 to 8.

Sylvi continues to be family clown. Today she put her hands over her eyes to hide from me. Kenzie was with us this morning and went for a walk with me and Sylvi. We park the stroller at the top of the hill past the boat landing and Sylvi walks with us. Sometimes it turns into a carry but not today. Sylvi did insist on walking on the ice. She only slipped and fell once.

Lots of hockey this weekend and next. Carter (7th grade) is going to the high school game to watch his buddies that he plays with other times of the year.

She would run to the middle of the great room, drop face down on the rug with her arms over her head. Then I would throw her blanket over her.
