Owen walked about 75 yards with me today before he caught me and got back in the stroller. Yesterday he was tackling the dog and climbing up on everything.

It was Pajama day at school today for Kenzie. She still had them on at 2 when I dropped Owen off. Carter was done with his school work for the day but Kenzie had a little bit to go yet.

Meat Specials:
We are doing the best we can with pricing and availability of meat. Beef and chicken have not been a problem except for price and several cuts of beef like chuck roast and tri tips. My pork guy says availability should start to get better next week. We are only limiting quantity if you are using a credit card. Credit card processing fees cost me over $3800 last month up from just over $2000. Debit is preferable, it only costs me 6 cents no matter how much or little you spend.

Carter snuck in an extra chapter of Soldier Dog on Sunday. His mom wasn’t watching while he was reading. Kenzie didn’t read, she had a little fit about taking a shower.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 27th

Owen and I went for a walk this morning. We walked past the house with dogs and I put him out of his stroller to walk but he just looked back and pointed at where the dogs lived. Then he was just about ready to walk with me when a young lady walked around the corner with two little kids on bikes. He finally did walk with me about 50 yards, walked into the woods twice before I put him back in the stroller. Then he almost went to sleep before we got home.

I read bedtime stories to Kenzie and Carter on Sunday night. They were too crabby and tired to read to me. Kenzie got new math books in the mail today.

When Owen and I left the lake today the neighbor was spreading money on the field across the street. I could smell the money when I walked out the door. One week each spring and fall we smell the money. Not a problem, the farm was there first. Owen almost sounded like he said Tractor.

Happy Birthday to me Tuesday, 61. Had cake and ice cream on Sunday. Carter was trying to weasel the last piece of cake and almost got his face smashed into it.

Carter and Kenzie have been reading us a bedtime story each night. Carter is reading a chapter book about the French Resistance during World War II. Kenzie reaches above grade level (1st grade) with some of her books. She read an insect book with a lot of 5th and 6th grade words and still did pretty good with them.

AJ dropped Owen off at 7 this morning and said good luck, he has been chasing the dog for an hour so far. He did chase me for a little while but he also took a 2 hour nap. I only got an hour.

Owen is on a mission to empty every cupboard in his house. We had him today and we were able to distract him from empting ours. He is walking more than crawling. Pretty soon he will be running.

Carter and Kenzie have been reading “bedtime stories” to Nana and Papa every night. They are both really excited about it and usually plan a theme. They are really cute when they read and are very good readers. Working on zoom so we can get more relatives on the story line.
