Hard round of golf today. Owen and AJ went with me. I shot 55 AJ a few more. Owen had his own ball and putter that he was hitting backwards every time we stopped. Had to throw his ball out of the way a couple times so he didn’t get hit. He even tried the tee thing.

Carter and Kenzie were up north over the weekend but I still got a bed time story from Kenzie. 5 Monkeys jumping on the bed.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Baby sister is getting more active and awake. Jim says she is eating more that he doesn’t remembers Owen eating this much at this age. I got in trouble when AJ was born when a neighbor asked how the baby was doing. I said good, she is sleeping through the night. I said it to close to Louise, she slapped me and said I was sleeping through the night not the baby. Put one rooster in the freezer 2 weeks ago. Lost the other rooster last week. AJ saw it at noon. I heard a rooster crow up in the woods when I got there at 3:30. When we got back from our walk at 4:30 no rooster. Jim found it in the woods dead. Don’t know what got it, speculation is weasel, hawk even a bear. Hens weren’t very happy being penned up in the coop for a couple days but no more lost chickens since.

Carter and Kenzie were in the lake wading and fishing Sunday. They had the swim floats but the water was a little too cold.

Woke up this morning at 8, raining, went back to bed. Got up at 8:30 dry, breakfast, get Owen dressed leaving for golf, raining. Sat down for a session of Price is Right, stopped raining so Owen you want to go for a walk or golfing. Golfing so off we go. Par on number 1 after hitting a tree, lucky bounce. Mostly 2 putts the rest of the way for bogie or double bogie. Owen thought it was funny when I hit the ball, big laugh. He finally found his over sweet pink lemonade on the 3rd hole and took a sip every time I got out of the cart to hit the ball. On 5 he spotted the geese under the pine tree. on 8 he walked down to the pond instead of following me to the green. Finally on 9 he pressed the gas pedal on the cart. Pretty calm round for a change. Shot 48 for the first time on grass.

Carter was in Chicago playing hockey for the Appleton team. They took 2nd place. Kenzie went to Hayward with dad and Nana to work on the cabin. They were going to make stir fry for dinner but didn’t have a wok. So they stopped at the always busy Walmart. Nana and Kenzie were walking back to the truck and Kenzie said lets walk home. The cabin is about a 1/2 mile from the Walmart. Nana confused Kenzie by telling her they were already on a walk for a wok.

Birthday for me this Wednesday, the big 62.

Baby sister is in turtle mode, mostly sleeping a dirtying diapers. Owen grabbed the stuffed shark when Kenzie got there and chased her saying “da dant, da dant” just like the movie Jaws. AJ is not taking eggs into school any more so she had me take 2 dozen for anyone who wants them. $3 per dozen. She moved the 5 new baby chicks back into the house from the garage to keep them warm this week. The new ones are supposed to lay green and blue eggs.

Speaking of freezer camp, Scott butchered the roosters on Saturday morning, well after he got 3 stitches in his thumb. Apparently the roosters weren’t real excited to go to freezer camp. I think he did 3 or 4. One for AJ and how ever many the baby sitter had. Wasn’t as good a story as I was making up in my head for this.

Carter was playing hockey in Green Bay and sat in the woods youth hunting turkeys with Scott on Sunday. Didn’t hear if he caught one.

New addition to the Niemuth Clan. Baby Sylvi arrived Friday happy and healthy 8+ pounder. She needs a hair cut, lots of curly hair. Owen spent the weekend with Nana and survived, no nicks or marks. He stayed overnight with Nana and Papa because we usually have him on Mondays anyway. Took him for a walk this morning, he didn’t walk much and wrapped up in the blanket out in the field in the wind. Major meltdown this afternoon. Nana washed his elephant blanket. He was Ok putting it in the washer until the water started running. Nana was finally able to distract him when the neighbor pulled up in his truck.

I have a date with Kenzie and Carter to read me a bed time story tonight. We have been calling them to read to us since last April when the pandemic started. It is a real hoot listening to them and they usually try books that are a grade level or more above where they are. Kenzie read the Wonky Donkey to Uncle Mark last week. She was sitting on my lap and when she got to the “he really stank” page she flopped back and bonked Nana in the eye. Nana saw stars. Mark thought the book was hilarious, not Nana getting bonked.

Baby chicks are arriving on Wednesday, about 100 I think. Scott is taking orders for June delivery. He has a poster in the entry way or see me to order. Last fall’s birds are sold out.
