AJ has a new strategy to keep Jim off early ice, sick kids. Owen and Sylvi were pretty sick last week. Good thing I didn’t get to see them. Jim didn’t get any ice fishing in either. AJ and Jim were both sick also.

Carter had to play defense on Sunday because they were short boys. He struggled a little bit because he usually doesn’t play defense. They lost both games by 1 point. Kenzie wouldn’t fess up to who she was fooling around with when she ran into the door and got a black eye. I told her I was disappointed it wasn’t from playing hockey on the ice.

So I broke the golden rule of Thanksgiving Turkeys, CHECK THE LIST! Customer called and wanted her turkey quartered so without looking I grabbed a turkey and quartered it. It was supposed to be an Organic one. So I took a lot of grief at home about how to stuff a cut up turkey. The kid’s other grandma loves having me in the family because she gets so many good stories to tell.

Hockey report: 4 games, 4 wins. Kenzie almost scored a goal. Played and scored, didn’t play goalie this week.

No Owen or Sylvi this weekend, kennel cough.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of November 15th

AJ called to tell me that Owen told her he was naughty for Papa today. I said Yes he was. I was out on the deck unloading firewood from the van and Sylvi and Owen were watching me. I took the shop vac to the other side of the house to vacuum out the dryer vent. Owen came out the back door to see what I was doing. I told him to go back inside and lock the door (because it doesn’t always latch right), So I go around to the deck door to go in the house and Owen had locked that door also. So now I am locked out. I knocked on the door and at least he let me back in.

Carter and Kenzie played 4 hockey games each this weekend. Kenzie didn’t win any, I know Carter won 2, Must have done pretty good on Saturday. He was passing the puck trying to get a couple of his teammates a Hat Trick. He scored a goal in the first game on Sunday and played goalie in the 2nd. Didn’t allow any goals. After Kenzie’s last game I was trying to get her to hip check or elbow, be a little more aggressive on the ice. You know throw down the gloves and pull some jersey over the opponents head. Her mom said it was appropriate that I was wearing the “Papa the bad influence” sweatshirt.

Bonus nice weather in November. Took Owen and AJ fishing on Sunday. Few bites but nothing in the boat. Owen tried hooking both of us trying to cast. Then he got mad if one of us casted for him. Golfing today with Owen and Sylvi. Shot 49, all 2 putts except 1 putt on 9. Going to try for one more round outside on Wednesday. Beautiful day on the coarse. Got out of the car and the guy next to me asked if I had the grandkids with me. Guess I have a reputation on the golf coarse.

Hockey starts this weekend for Carter and Kenzie. 4 games in 2 different cities between them. Won’t slow down until March.
