Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 1st`

Yes September, where did the summer go?  Tuesday September 2nd is the happiest day of the year, especially if you have kids going back to school.  Carter starts 4 year old Kindergarten tomorrow.

I asked around the dinner table tonight if anyone did anything cute this week that I could put in this e-mail.  Carter and Kenzie both said no but I suspect they were telling a fib.  Grandma said no, she is more boring the older she gets.  Then I offered to let her pick up sweet corn and tomatoes on Thursday but she is playing bridge with the other boring old ladies, Her Words.  My nephew John did get his 4 wheeler stuck in a mud hole but that is pretty much standard for him.

We did get out to the golf coarse this morning, 5 of us plus Kenzie and Carter.  The clear patch on radar that was there when we teed off turned to rain.  We went down and picked up our tee shots and went home.  I did get a nice bike ride in after lunch when the sun came out.

We had a customer come in last week who ordered 200 clams.  I said Friday they said no Saturday, we are dropping our kid off at college on Friday and the empty nest party is Saturday.  Morel of the story is order your live lobster, clams and oysters by 4 pm Tuesday for Wednesday and 4 pm Thursday for Friday or Saturday delivery.  734 4905 or stop in.

There was a big shiney 8 lug hub cap probably off a big shiney truck in the parking lot when I got back tonight.  Louise will review the film to see if we can tell who it belongs to.  If you lost it I brought it in the store.  Pick it up when you have time.

Waupaca Sweet Corn and Tomatoes will continue to be available until first frost.  Lets hope that is November.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 25th

Labor Day weekend, end of summer, beginning of football season, Next week Tuesday is the happiest day of the year, first day of school.

This morning for breakfast I told Kenzie to watch Aunt AJ and make sure she didn’t take a bite out of my toast.  I took my juice to the table and when I came back Kenzie was pointing at AJ and AJ was pointing at Kenzie because there was a bite in my toast.  It was kind of cute the look on Kenzie’s face. AJ and I have been doing this for over 25 years.

We walked this morning instead of playing golf.  The golf coarse was to wet for carts and I didn’t think to take Kenzie’s stroller.  The 2 subdivision loops that we walk are about 4 1/2 miles.  Carter walked it this morning instead of riding his bike.  He brought home some sticks for NaNa to use for kindling in the fireplace this winter.  We also found 2 wooly bear caterpillars, I thought it was a little early tor them.  Hope that doesn’t mean an early winter.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 18th

Pretty heavy rain this afternoon.  I drove back from Waupaca in that rain.  We did get our round of golf in this morning.  I should get a do over on 2 and 3.  I was not hitting well at all, couldn’t figure out why until the 3rd green.  I was playing a ball that was darn near cracked in 1/2.  Tried to hit it into the woods but couldn’t get it to fly the 20 yards necessary.  New ball finished the round much better.

Before we left for golf this morning Kenzie had the lion puppet and was making roaring sounds.  Carter picked up Mister Rabbit and made a big Carter roar.  Kenzie tossed the lion and went running the other way.  Had to be there it was cute.

Had our employee picnic Sunday.  Thank you to Wendy, Miranda and Scott for covering the store.  Thank you for shopping on Sunday and asking Scott who he was, he said a few people did ask.  Scott is my youngest son.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 11th

It rained after lunch today in Waupaca.  Carter was standing outside by the patio door in a dry spot watching the rain.  Kenzie of course needed to join him and they promptly starting running in the rain, sliding on the deck and splashing water on each other.  So its time to leave for work, dry clothes on both, Kenzie’s shoes put on 3 times and head for the truck.  Both of them run through the puddles in the driveway and Kenzie makes me chase her around the truck to catch her.  Papa may need to lay down a little more discipline and a little less spoiling on those two.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 4th

Football camp is open everywhere, high school, college and pros with games starting soon.  Fall is on the way.  Need last year’s Venison taken care of ?  Bring it in!

Spent the weekend in Hayward with my cousins and their families.  It was also a bridal shower for one of my cousin’s kids who is getting married in October.  Lots of eating, swimming, fishing and golfing.  Carter and Kenzie were the oldest grandkids there.  Kenzie was showing off for the parents and grandparents of the 1 year old grandkids.  She was jumping off the dock, swimming around in her life jacket and showing off her potty skills.

We were fishing bluegills with Carter.  He wanted to keep them all, totally the opposite of my niece’s from Ohio when they were small.  They dumped the ice out of the ice chest to put water in it to take the salmon home when they were fishing with my sister Janet in Alaska a few years ago.  We told Carter they had to be as big as his dad’s hand not Carter’s hand to keep them.  Didn’t keep any anyway.

Fresh seafood for Tuesday will be Swordfish.

Fresh seafood for Wednesday will be Ora King Salmon, Wild Great Lakes King Salmon, Green Bay Perch, Halibut Cheeks and maybe some Little Neck Clams.  There is no quanity on the clam order so I will have to call and see in the morning.  Call 734 4905 if you want clams for Wedesday or Friday.
