Carter was home with me from school today. He had his tonsils out last Thursday and was not quite up for school today. We didn’t go golfing, I thought it was a little chilly for him to be out on the golf coarse. I got 7 miles in on the bike before cutting the grass.

Your invited to the first annual Health and Wellness fair on Saturday 10-14 at the Community Early Learning center at 313 S State Street near downtown Appleton. Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of October 2nd

Go to bandestrees.com to order the bourbon barrel aged maple syrup. They will be bottling in October and shipping in November. You can order from their website for pick up at my store. You will be notified when the syrup is available and pay when you pick it up here. Scroll down on their home page to the 2017 reservation box and fill in the form. Select Niemuth’s Southside Market for your pick up location.

The stop lights are turned on at Calumet, the Appleton website says east Calumet should be finished today, Monday. They have it marked for painting and the painting buggy out, looks like they might have it open tonight yet. West on Calumet from Oneida says 10/4 on the Appleton Website. Its blacktopped and might need a little paint to open.

Midway road should open this week from 114 on the South up to festival foods but is still closed for another week up to Midway. Midway Southbound is supposed to open next week but then they will close Northbound from Midway until December 1st.

Then everything starts over next March.

Beautiful day on the golf coarse today. I wore a sweatshirt but it was almost too warm for a sweatshirt. Back down to earth, shot 48 today. Didn’t shoot well around the greens.

No colored leaves out in Waupaca yet, I will let you know when. A customer was up north to see the colors and there was none. He found 3 leaves total in color.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of September 25th

Oneida Street is open from College Ave to the 441 Bridge. Oneida Street will be closing for the weekend starting at 8 PM on Friday 9/29 until Monday morning 10-2 according to the State website. Last time they announced a closure like this it wasn’t closed tight for the whole weekend but plan accordingly. We are seeing much more traffic in the store since Oneida Street opened.

Calumet street is scheduled to open on Friday 9/29. Yippee

Played 10 holes of golf, Shot 43 on the first 9 this morning. Beautiful day on the golf coarse for the end of September. Boys were playing in the water yesterday but I couldn’t convince them to bring the swim dock in.

Store hours are Monday-Saturday 9-9 and Sunday 10-6. Party of 100,000 downtown on Saturday, we are open all day if you go downtown or not.

Yes, Oneida street is open from College ave to Midway road. Don’t plan on Calumet until the end of next week. Just stay out of the Calumet construction and let them work.

Last 2 Weeks for Waupaca Sweet Corn. Back from Waupaca on Thursday at 12:30 with sweet corn and Union Star Cheese Curds.

My youngest son Scott was bear hunting up in Hayward over the weekend. Suffice to say he didn’t spend the entire night in the woods but he was almost the focus of a search and rescue. He didn’t get the bear either, the wolves did.

Road Construction update: Hard to determine: 2 clicks on the Appleton website and 2 dates 9/25 and 9/29 for the Calumet intersection to be finished. Two big holes in the sidewalk in front of the store to replace the hydrant and valve. Should be filled in and passable by end of day Tuesday. Best access to the store is from the south, wide open down to Midway road. The state e-mail has “various” lane closures at the bridge this week but not a total closure. From Memorial drive east on Calumet to Right on South Wood to Left on Wilson to Left on ONeida to the store. Calumet on the East side of Oneida to left on Jefferson 2 blocks to Right on Murray straight into the parking lot. Thank you for your perseverance, I really appreciate it.

Kenzie told her 4K teacher, Miss Kate, that she wouldn’t be in school on Mondays because she would be golfing with Papa. Her mom told her sorry you will be in school, Papa is just trying to get you in trouble.

Don’t let my daughter AJ fly your drone. She took it out of the box and flew it across the living room and then while I was reading the instructions to her she went outside and it only went up and away, we’re not really sure where. She did the GPS location thing on her phone. First it was in Vancouver Canada, then Northern China and then in France. It might be back by now. Then she started reading the instructions. Needless to say she was taking a few jabs about the order in which she did things.

My niece Katie is safe in Orlando Florida. Her house is one of the 40% with power in the state and only a few tree branches down in her yard.
