Thank you to my crew for a nice late season trip to Canada with my cousin. Ate fish every day, brought home 7 of 8 walleye and 5 northern. Nice weather, Mid 70’s and sunny Saturday to Tuesday. No wind Saturday or Sunday could have used some. Rest of the week was 20 mph winds and 1–2-foot waves. Fishing got progressively harder. Rain shower on Wednesday morning that we fished in. Got 18 holes of golf in Wednesday Afternoon, shot 104 about normal for me.

Pontoon boat is out for the winter. Played golf with Sylvi this morning, shot 51. Six was my favorite score today, had 4 or 5 of them. Sylvi was putting pretty well. Four more weeks of outdoor golf to go. We will see how the 2nd Monday in November goes for weather.

Fresh Amish Turkeys are ordered. Board will go up soon. Call and order soon. Steak, Roast and Seafood orders for Thanksgiving appreciated also. 920 734 4905

Its deep ruby/purple hue leads to a more medium to full-bodied, rounded, plush profile that includes red plum and blue fruits, sweet, velvety tannins, classic notes of peppery herbs, violets, and orange blossom, and a great finish. It’s another prodigious, incredibly impressive Syrah that readers will love to have in their cellars. It will evolve for at least 15 years.”

Serial Paso Robles California White Blend. This lively, lush, and layered white blend brings together the best of the Paso Robles region. Chardonnay is joined by Viognier, Clairette Blanche, and Albariño to create refreshing acidity with a richness that lingers. Padro & Co Blanco Reserva Vermouth, Spain. An infusion of aromatic herbs with the peel of several different citrus fruits. After several monts of maceration, an aged white mistela (sweet wine) specific for this blend is added.

Padro & Co Vermouth Rojo Clasico, Spain. A tribute to the vermouth, which was sold originally from wine cellars, evoking herby and slightly medicinal aromas to transport you back to th4e atmosphere inside those local bars and cafes.

No golf today, Chamber of Commerce Event. Went for walk with Nana instead. Sylvi didn’t want to go, her feet hurt. Then she ran, raced or jumped most of the way. Went for a bike ride with the electric bike around the 5-mile block with Sylvi in the chariot. I think the E bike was more work than my pedal bike. Even with the e assist I peddled more than I would have on my regular bike.

Eight of us went to Door County on Saturday to ride bikes and take a sailboat ride on the bay. Good biking weather, needed more wind for the sailboat. Owen and I helped hoist the main sail. Had pizza after.

Now we know why my sister doesn’t get to drive the golf cart. She can’t see where my ball goes and she forgets where hers is sometimes. All 3 of us shot our best round of the year today. Sylvi had 32, can’t wait until she can do that for real. I had 42, my best round of the year and my sister had 57, her best round ever.

Hockey has started for Carter and Owen. Carter is playing football also. Owen was mad after practice last week because he couldn’t play sharks and minnows. To play Sharks and Minnows he has to free skate (he can) but he is faster with a skate aid, but that might hurt another skater.

Kenzie is doing volleyball. Haven’t been able to get to one of her games yet.

Domaine Pascal Balland Sancerre AOC France Sauvignon Blanc. Grown on a soil of Pebbles and white limestone in the village of Bue’ in France’s Loire Valley. Pascal Balland’s Sancerre wine has all the characteristics you can expect from a Sancerre: lemony, dry, mineral, aromatic, and lively. Pair with fish, shellfish or cheese such as Chevre.

2018 Bodegas Riojanas Monte Real Reserva Rioja, DOC Spain. 93 points James Suckling, 90 points Wine Spectator, 91 points Wine Enthusiast. Red violet to the eye, this wine has aromas of raspberry, milk chocolate and black olive paste. It is juicy in the mouth on opening; then flavors of blackberry and cassis set in with notes of dark chocolate, violet and almond toffee. Plush tannins remain on the palate into a long finish.

Miss Jackie retired from childcare. Owen and Sylvi are at Sunny Days now. Mom and Dad both cried after dropping them off last week. Sylvi cried too. I dropped her off today on my way back to work. Sylvi cried at the house but no tears when I dropped her off. I didn’t cry either. Play, Play, Play.

Just Sylvi and my sister golfing today. Sylvi can putt the ball all the way across the green. Sometimes even close to the hole. I shot 50. Sylvi had 3 on every hole because she is three.
