This is my last post as I am stepping back and retiring as of Tuesday the 24th. I cannot express enough thanks for the 23-year relationship we have had. Marriages, Family passing, grandchildren coming. Your support and encouragement has been extremely appreciated by me and my family.

I will continue to be in the area spending time in both Appleton and Waupaca.

This is a bittersweet time doing this without Louise. But we play the hand we are delt.

Wes and Alma, my meat cutter and his wife will be taking over operation of the store. The Niemuth’s Southside Market name and “Fresh Fish!” will continue on.

Hope you caught your Sturgeon. Lots of them taken opening weekend. Lots coming in for smoking already.

Quite hockey weekend, season is winding down. Carter and Kenzie still have a couple games left before tournaments. Owen has one weekend left and Sylvi has one or two more practices left. Looking forward to spring sports. Baseball, Soccer and Track.

Walked with Sylvi this morning. She tried to push me in the snowbank again then the sun came out and she was walking on my shadow. A car pulled out from the house across the street from the boat landing. Sylvi said she didn’t want to live there. I said, “why not, you would see you dad every day.”

We have Tasso Ham, Andouille, Crawfish and Alligator for your Fat Tuesday celebrations.

Took down the Christmas tree today. Asked Sylvi if I should toss the stuffed animals to her at the top of the steps. She said no, I will run them up.

Went to Hamilton on Saturday. Great day with my kids and grandkids and Bella. Eight of us went, good times had by all.

Kenzie scored two more goals on Saturday but lost so I don’t think they will make state this year. Owen is skating really aggressive now also.

Sylvi was all no no no not going for a walk this morning. We did. She was running and walking backwards most of the way.

Owen is a terror on ice. So much improved playing hockey as a 6-year-old. Even kept up with the team that was pushing and hitting.

Kenzie scored 3 goals in two games last weekend. She plays mostly defense. Need a win this weekend to go to state.

Carter’s high school hockey team is running out of bodies. A broken collar bone out for the season, hopefully one coming back this week. Carter is playing more varsity because of it. Kenzie’s team is working on making state in February. Owen is still playing mites games. Parents are playing adult hockey but it sounds like they are getting tired before the end of the game.

Owen is rating out his dad’s secret ice fishing spots when I ask him where they were fishing. He used to just say “I can’t tell you.”

I have a couple tickets for the All-Canada Show if anyone wants them. Green Bay January 22-25. Free to good home.

Fox Valley BBQ Club 3rd annual Rib Fest to benefit Old Glory Honor Flight. Saturday January 24th 11 till gone at the Stoneyard Bar and Restaurant in Greenville. Eat in only, no Carry outs. Last year we were just short of $7000 raised.
