Nine days til Christmas Eve.  Hams are in the smoke house, ribs are in the cooler.  Kenzie is working on her HO HO HO and Carter is still Carter, telling stories about his fire calls singing along with Christmas Carols.  They had their picture taken with Santa tonight, haven’t seen it yet.  My sister Janet is home for Christmas, flew in from Anchorage Alaska today.  This usually means it will get colder here in Wisconsin.  She usually can’t wait to go home where it is “warm.”

Last week a customer was giving me a hard time about not golfing.  I told him its a holiday season and I have to work and that I would be golfing again in January.  He asked if I was going south and I said no, North to Mid Valley’s indoor simulator.  I also invited him and anyone else who might be interested to join us.  Tim had shoulder surgery so won’t be golfing until late spring hopefully. 

Store hours are 9-9 Monday – Saturday and 10 – 6 on Sunday.  We will be open Christmas Eve 9 – 5.  Closed Christmas Day, Merry Christmas.  Open New Years Eve 9 – 9 and New Years Day 10 – 6.

Aah December, seems like just a blink or two ago we were ringing in the new year and now we are just a month away from ringing in again.  December includes several milestones for the Niemuth family, Carter turns 5 this month, my grandfather would be 115 this month and we will be starting our 12th year in the store this month.

Carter was out skating on the lake last weekend but it was a little too cold for him, not like the hockey rink.  Hopefully this weekend will be better for skating.

Kenzie had a cute moment Sunday night.  It was time to go home and her dad caught her to put her shoes and coat on.  She yelled “Naa Naa save me, save me.”

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of November 17th

Carter wanted to go skating out on the lake today.  I told him we needed to wait a few more days before we can shovel out a skating rink.  He is a mad man on the ice at the hockey rink, practicing backwards skating and next he wants to spray ice.

Kenzie was a cuddley little bear today.  She felt like she had a fever when I dropped her at home.  I hope the little flea bag doesn’t make me sick just before deer season and Thanksgiving.

Speaking of deer hunting we are cutting deer, or if you cut your own we are grinding hamburger and making sausage.  Bring your deer or trim in for processing.  Scott shot a deer a couple weeks ago so we have venison hot stix and summer sausage if you want a sample for deer camp.

Carmella’s Will be here on Friday afternoon 3 – 6 sampling their sauces and Chef George will be sampling some of his creations also.  We will also have beer and wine samples available.  Watch our facebook page for any additional venders that will be sampling.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of November 10th

Sorry I think that posted, I hit the enter key instead of the tab key.

A little fun at the lake on Sunday.  AJ was out on the swimming dock to get it in for the winter.  The first year my nephew John borrowed a wet suit and swam out to get it.  He got too cold before he got it untied and gave me a real nasty look when I said “why don’t you pull a board up instead of going in the water?”  He asked why I didn’t tell him that before he swam out.  I told him it wouldn’t have been as funny to watch.  After that he took the board up and put a speed clip on it.  Back to AJ, last spring when she put the dock out she dropped the hammer to the bottom of the lake.  Sunday she had the old beater hammer but didn’t drop it in the lake.  Unfortunately the beater hammer doesn’t work as well as the one dropped so it took her a while to get the board up.  When she finally did get the dock loose and paddled it in Carter was waiting on the shore dock with a paddle to splash her.  Some water did leave the lake both ways but no one got really wet.
