Store hours for Memorial Day weekend – 9-9 Friday and Saturday, 10-6 Sunday and MONDAY Memorial Day.

I was in Sault Ste Marie over the weekend for a wedding.  Didn’t think of it soon enough on the way home but we should have gone to Mackinac and dipped my toes in Lake Huron also.  I only got Lake Superior and Lake Michigan at Manistique on the way home.  Both lakes were plenty cold.

Good news at the Niemuth’s house.  Becky had her ultra sound and its a girl.  Carter is going to have a baby sister in October.

Carter was supposed to go golfing with me today but he was with his California Grandmother (Bella) who is in town for a week.  He ran her pretty ragged today, they were both pretty tired at dinner tonight.  We’ll see if Bella survives the week.  Last week Carter grabed my leg and said save me papa when Becky stopped to pick him up.  I had to explain to him that it is my job to spoil him and his mom’s job to deal with it when she gets him back.  She’s used to it now.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of May 7th

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’ s on the e-mail list.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Some tears shed around the Niemuth house this weekend.  Scotty my youngest is leaving Tuesday to join the circus, not really a circus but a grain train in Kansas.  Hired on with a harvesting crew in Kansas.  They will start in Texas and end in October in North Dakota.  He has instructions on how many sections and oil wells the farmer’s daughter should have.  I reminded him she should have all her teeth also.

Louise and Carter made chocolate chip Tookies as Carter calls them for Scotty to take to Kansas with him.  Louise taught Carter a naughty trick.  She poofed him with flour from her fingers.  He grabbed a handfull of flour from the bag and poofed her back.

Carter and I rode our bikes instead of walking today.  He rides his own bike and made it most of the 4 miles we normally walk.  I had to carry his bike and let him ride on my seat as I walked the bike for about 1/2 a mile.  He turned 2 in December so 4 miles isn’t bad on his own bike.

Fresh seafood for Wednesday will be Halibut Cheeks, Tilapia, Sole and Whole Bronzini.

Fresh seafood for Thursday will be Chilean Sea Bass, Walleye and Atlantic Grouper.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 30th

Went fishing in Weyauwega Sunday with my brother and nephew who is 8.  Caught a walleye and a few white bass.  My nephew Camron caught a Turbot that was well over 20 inches.  I had thoughts of keeping it but we threw it back.  Cam’s biggest fish so far.  Good thing it wasn’t a walleye or carp it would have pulled him in.

Carter has developed an interest in bird songs.  When we were walking this morning he would ask what kind of bird made that sound.  I might have confused him when I told him it was a LBB, little brown bird.

New ITEMS:

We are starting to enhance the grocery items that we offer.  I have received 10 flavored olive oils, organic Salsa and Crackers, Agave Nector.  Many mustards and marinades with more on the way.  Bone Suckin BBQ Sauce and rubs.  Smoking boards in Cedar, Oak, Maple, Alder and Cherry.  Smoking Chips in Mesquite, Hickory, Apple and Cherry.  I also have the 9 grain sprouted wheat buns and a really good Veggie Burger in the freezer.  Stop in and see the additions.

Pat was visiting friends in Indiana over the weekend.  They went to a fish shop very similar to mine except the prices were about double what we charge.  She said Halibut, Chilean sea bass and wild salmon were all $40 per pound.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 23rd

Celebrated my birthday over the weekend.  53 big ones and still going.  Carter did a recordable card for me and was giggling when he heard his voice.  He also went to the twins 3 year old birthday party on Sunday.  Hide your granddaughters, he was hugging all the little girls at the party.

We went for a short walk on Sunday before dinner, about a mile or a little more.  Me on new knees (2 years+), grandma Sandy on a new hip (last September) (my brother’s mother in law) Carter on his balance bike and 5 others.  A balance bike has no pedals so he pushes with his feet and balances on it.  Carter has no fear on the bike.  He rolls down hill with his feet up and scares the heck out of his mom.   For those new to the e-mail Carter is my grandson and turned 2 last December.
