Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 22nd

My brother Bobby was giving me a hard time about going on vacation over the weekend.  I told him it is NOT a vacation when you spend 4 consecutive days with his mother, brother and sister.

Just returned from Columbus Ohio.  Took my Mom and brother Roger to see my sister Nancy and her family for the weekend.  Nancy has been there over 20 years and this is Roger’s first trip to Ohio since Easter 1968 when we visited my Aunt and Uncle who now live in Washington state.  Nice weather, showed Roger the town, celebrated my birthday on Sunday, the big 54 for those keeping track.  Roger usually travels west to Colorado or New Mexico where his friends live.

Carter informed me last Thursday that he has “magic powers.”  He proved it at the stop light when he went 3 2 1 green and the light turned green.  Of course it didn’t help that Papa would coach him at future lights and it worked every time.  Hopefully he won’t try to fly next.

I think Kenzie is hitting another growth spurt.  I needed the Table spoon to shovel the food in fast enough on Thursday.

Fresh Seafood for Tuesday will be Wahoo and White Perch from Lake Erie.  White perch look very similar to yellow perch, I saw them whole at Jungle Jim’s in Cinncinatti Sunday but are much cheaper, only 3.99 lb for fillets.  Give them a try!

Fresh Seafood for Thursday will be Halibut and Monk fish.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of April 15th

Carter attended the Lion King last Thursday with his mom, dad, NaNa and PaPa.  His head was on a swivel when the animals marched in to start the show.  He cried when Mufasa died and confused bad uncle Scar with his good uncle Scott.  He was a little cute when it went dark, “is it over?”  I was a little suprised at how many younger children were there and a little worried that Carter wouldn’t know what was going on.  His mom did a good job of explaining how the theatre was going to be different that the dvd.

Robins are back, Sandhills are here and the first long walk of the year with both kids today.  Carter had to walk the whole way, about 4 1/2 miles up to the school bus and back  because Kenzie was in the stroller.  Kenzie was way easier in the stroller than Carter but we still need to add air to the tires so they are not flat on the bottoms.  Kenzie went to sleep on the walk and both of them were sleeping before we left the house for Appleton this afternoon.  Probably aren’t sleeping at all tonight.

Carter walked through every puddle on our walk.  Why do you do that Carter?  Because the dogs do.

Specials for week of April 8th

My daughter has 4 tickets to the Chicago Blackhawks hockey game on Friday night to sell.  The other 2 that were going with her canceled.  Call me at 734 4905 if you are interested.

Laundry overload at several of the Niemuth households this weekend.  The annual burning of the burn pile was Sunday.  Carter, Cameron and Kylee started out just standing at the edge of the puddles but pretty soon they were in over their boots and wet to their underwear.  Carter came back for a 2nd time with dry boots and clothes and proceeded to carry chunks of ice from one puddle to the other.  Needless to say a 2nd load of laundry was needed.  I asked Carter if the laundry fairy took care of his laundry.  He said no my mom does.

Kenzie didn’t get wet at all but just wait till next year.  She is talking and jabbering all the time now.  Da – da – da – da is her best so far.  She does tell a pretty good story though.

Congratulations to my Brothers Roger and Bobby and their sausage maker Dan for taking a 3rd in the state for our natural casing wieners at the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors convention in Madison last weekend.  They don’t make “special competition” sausages, they take their every week sausages because they want to sell the same quality product 52 weeks a year not make it once a year.

Specials for week of April 1

No April Fools, the Brewers won opening Day!  Don’t ask about about my basketball bracket, Louisville won so Louise is the big winner in our family again this year.  She already did her victory dance on our brackets.  This won’t be easy 2 years in a row for her.

Went for a walk on Sunday afternoon in a blizzard, Carter was on his bike.  We had to raise the seat about 4 inches because he grew since last fall.  He should be on a real peddle bike by mid summer.

Spring is here, I went to Fleet Farm and spent the last 8 of my deer hide coupons on garden seeds.  Picked out some fun things for me and Carter to plant like Sunflowers that will be taller than him and that will feed the birds.  Dill, pumpkins and gords that he can grow for the grandma’s and radishes and carrots that he can grow for papa.  Will be picking up tomato and pepper plants at Memorial Florists, they shop here every week.  Louise got Basil plants at the Bridal shower on Saturday so we won’t have to steal it from Grandma Kay’s garden when we go for a walk or bike ride.

Saw a pair of sandhill cranes Sunday but no Robins yet.   Hopefully next weekend.  Louise is claiming a Robin but I think it was down in Milwaukee at the Bridal Shower.  She is soooo Competitive.
