Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of August 5th

Aaron and Scott have an elk and bear hunt scheduled for early November in Washington state.  Scott realized on the way up to Alaska that the mountains are pretty steep and he is a little out of shape for chasing elk and bear up and down the mountains.  Got a walk around the block on him Sunday night in his new hiking boots.

My brother in law Dave got married on Saturday and Nah Nah and I had Kenzie while Carter, Aaron and Becki went to Family night at Lambeau.  We had my niece’s 13 year old son walking Kenzie in the stroller to get her to go to sleep.  It was funny watching him with 4 of his girl cousins following him walk back and forth for at least an hour and a half.  Needless to say Kenzie and Carter didn’t go to sleep until after midnight on Saturday.  I had them again on Sunday night while Aaron and Becki went out for dinner with the football coaches.  Neither of them went to sleep until after 11 PM on Sunday night.  I worked on Monday so Aaron had to deal with them.

Another wedding this weekend.  We’ll see if either of them sleep again this week.

My sister Janet didn’t last a year back in the lower 48.  I flew to Seattle last August to drive with her back to Wisconsin.  She worked for a unit of her Alaska employer in west Chicago for almost a year but left last Wednesday to go back to Anchorage.  She didn’t get enough hours and couldn’t afford Chicago.  She is going back to Anchorage to work for her previous employer.    My youngest son Scott is driving up with her.   He has survived his Aunt’s driving with cruise control in the mountains and two flat tires on the trailer.  They are going Halibut fishing tomorrow and looking for an apartment for Janet on Wednesday.  Got to have your priorities right.

I have 10 dozen fresh sweet corn ordered for Thursday.  This is first week harvest for Grace, she said it might be a little better in a week or two.  Hold your orders for canning and freezing for a couple weeks for the best sweet corn.  Tomatoes should be ready by then also.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of July 22nd

Carter has become a golfing machine.  Saturday he was in Manitowoc visiting Bella and played mini golf.  First hole he sinks the first putt.  Mom and Dad and Bella are surprised.  Becki won hitting in the 60s, Aaron and Bella were a little higher and Carter had 107 on 18 holes.

This morning the usual suspects went golfing, John, Carter, Kenzie and me.  Carter was putting and hitting his ball as usual but nothing special until the  9 th hole.  Carter pitched onto the green from about 40 or 50 feet and drilled it right into the hole.  I’m lucky he doesn’t know what he is doing yet.  After that we had to take him home and throw him in the lake to cool him off.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of July 15th

Kenzie is crawling all over now.  She looks back to see if you are following her or chases you if you take off on her.  Just don’t get to far ahead or she targets on something else.

Carter dropped another 12 foot putt this morning on the golf coarse.  He is also hitting the ball 20 – 30 feet with his 7 iron but taking a lot of swings to do it.  I should be working with him on rythem and timing by fall.  I shot 50 and Kenzie didn’t sleep at all while riding the cart.

Scotty, my baby turned 24 today.  I offered to give him a hug and kiss in front of his friends at work this afternoon but he said Grandma did that already.
