Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 24th

Blackhawks win!  What an ending to game 6.  Lots of excitement in the Niemuth house tonight.

Speaking of excitement Louise had a couple sleepless nights over the weekend at the cottage.  She woke up on Friday night with “that feeling” that she wasn’t alone.  She flipped on the light to find a bat circling the room.  She went to get Scotty to do something about it.  The bat apparently knew Scotty was afraid of it.  One bombing run at Scotty and as he describes it “I ran from the room squealing like a school girl.”  What to do?  Louise went a woke AJ up to get her tennis racket and baseball glove.  AJ’s last words of encouragement to her mother were “leave my light off and close the door.”  The tennis racket and baseball glove didn’t work so we wait until morning.  In the morning Aunt Holly is summoned to dispatch the bat.  Apparently she has more experience with bats and tennis rackets.

Saturday night Louise is getting ready for bed and another bat is circling the room.  She texts Scotty and AJ who are out at a local establishment with friends recounting the story from the night before.  The text was perfectly timed by Louise, the response from her children was basically “good luck with the bat.”  So the bat disappears and Louise sleeps in the basement.  No more bats until Sunday Night

Sunday night Scotty goes to change the laundry and hollers I found the bat.  Louise has gone back to Appleton by now so AJ and I go up stairs to see what is going on.  The bat chases Scotty out of the laundry room and into his bedroom.  Scotty realizes the bat is in the bedroom and runs out squealing again and hides in the bathroom.  AJ opens the back door and after another lap of the bedroom the bat exits out the door.  No further problems so far, I’ll keep you posted.

Louise’s first encounter with a bat was almost 30 years ago when we moved into our first house in Manawa.  It was September and Aaron, our oldest, his birthday is today, was 3 months old.  He was sitting, no sleeping in the baby swing while we moved stuff into the house.  All of a sudden Louise screams and goes running from the living room hollering about a bat.  She realizes Aaron is still in the swing in the living room and runs back in to save him from the bat.  She went and hid in the bathroom while I ushered the bat out the door.

She also had a bat encounter in church one Sunday but enough about bats.

Specials @ Niemuth’s for week of June 10th

Happy Father’s Day this Sunday.  Louise says every weekend is father’s day weekend.  I don’t know how she figures that, I don’t get any special treatment.

We are open Sunday, Father’s day 10 – 6.

I’m back from our annual fishing trip to Canada.  Just 4 of us this year, brother Bobby, sons Aaron and Scott.  Fishing was harder than last year.  Weather was terrible, no wind, no rain, mid 70’s and blue skies all week.  Should have taken golf clubs.  Brought home 15 of our 16 walleye limit and 4 northerns.  Ate fish every night no thanks to Aaron and Scott.  They claimed all the fish they caught were either to big or to small to keep.  Bobby and I had to feed them all week.

I don’t see any humor in a rediculous Richard story.  I didn’t even need the rain coat and I had my pajama pants on because I was washing my clothes to take on the trip.  Louise does look good in her shining armor though.

Waupaca Aspargus will be Wednesday and Friday this week.

Fresh seafood for Tuesday will be Amber Jack and Mahi Mahi.

Fresh seafood for Wednesday will be Ora King Salmon and Halibut Cheeks.

Fresh seafood for Thursday will be Pacific Halibut and Door County Whitefish.

Remember to order live oysters, Clams and Lobster by 4 pm Tuesday for Wednesday and 4 pm Thursday for Friday delivery.  Call 734 4905 to order.

Niemuth’s Specials June 3rd

So the boys are in Canada this week.  Richard left me to do the email!!  They have been catching some fish but it’s slow.  It’s also cool up there… go figure.  Getting them off is always a treat.  Richard called me on Friday night from Waupaca looking for his rain jacket.  I said it was probably in the closet.  He couldn’t find it and he said it wasn’t in the coat closet in Appleton, either.  So being at the store, I go to our house here in Appleton.  Opened the front hall closet doors and there is was, right where he said it wasn’t.  So then after closing the store at 9, he wants me to drive it half way to Waupaca … so I put on my knight in shining armour suit and head over to Fremont to rescue him from his foybles.  He gets out of his truck… in his pajama pants of all things.  Then proceeds to tell me that a customer forgot to pick something up that needed to be in Ripon at 8 the next morning…and could I go back to Appleton to the store and meet this guy to get his stuff out of the freezer.  Seriously,  the man owes me big time!!!  He had told me to put a cute Carter and Kenzie story here but I think it’s more fun to put a Ridiculous Richard story.
